In 1971 Broadbeach Cats entered the Gold Coast Football League and the Seniors won their first Premiership in 1987. In 1996 the Broadbeach Cats had a triple Premiership with the Seniors, Reserves and Colts all being victorious. They are a thriving community based sporting organization that now participates in the NEAFL, QAFL Reserves League, the AFL Gold Coast Junior League and the AFL Gold Coast Old Boys League.

The Broadbeach Football Club is a nonprofit organization with over 400 players, that exists to serve the Gold Coast community.
